Fruits & Vegetables

What's the benefit?
Eating a diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables has been linked to improved health and for good reason. Vegetables and fruits (both fresh and frozen) are loaded with vitamins, minerals, fiber and antioxidants; which have been shown to protect against chronic diseases such as heart disease and cancer.

Starches

What is starch?
Starches are long complex chains of simple sugars. This is why they are often called "complex carbohydrates". It was once thought that complex carbohydrates do not raise blood sugar as quickly or as much as sugars; but now we know that some starches are actually more glycemic than some sugars.

Proteins

Power of Protein
Seafood is an excellent source of protein because it's usually low in fat. The white meat of poultry is excellent. It is lean protein. Dairy foods contain valuable calcium and many are fortified with vitamin D. Eggs are one of the least expensive forms of protein. Lean beef is an excellent source of zinc, iron and vitamin B12.

Let's Talk About Flavor...

Flavor
It is all about the flavor. Here we spend the time to appreciate and enjoy the world of flavor. We delv into the flavor of food & beverage. We will provide information about what flavors can do for you and your taste buds as well as your body.

Flavor can be affected by how a farmer may handle their crops or livestock, how far an item has to travel to or from market and flavor can be affected by the different forms of preparation for food before consumption.
